Born on March 24th, 1949 in Remedios, Cuba, Juan was the beloved firstborn of Juan Curiel and Noelia Fuentes.
Baptized and confirmed in the Catholic church, Juan grew up in the small province of Las Villas, Cuba with his siblings Fernando, Jose Manuel, Alberto, Julia, Ricardo, Noelia Milagros, and Abel.
At the young age of 13, he was enlisted into the Cuban Military. His military career ended at the age of 20 when he met his devoted wife and mother of his children, Nancy Ramos as they got married on September 6, 1969. Soon after they decided to start a family. Their firstborn, Omar, came into this world in July of 1970 and in May 1973 they had a second son, Dagmar.
Juan, always eager to provide a better life for his family, decided in 1979 they would move to Costa Rica and in September 1982, daughter Mara was born. In July of 1983 Juan convinced Nancy that they should pursue the “American Dream” and moved to Miami, FL where their fourth child, Edmar, was born in April of 1986.
Juan is survived by his wife Nancy, children Omar, Dagmar, Mara, Edmar, grandchildren, Omar Jr., Emelyna, Adrian, Alec, Noah, Easton, & Ashton, great-grandchildren Ryan, Mariana, Randy Jr., &
Liam. He also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends in Cuba, Spain, and Florida.
