On February 25, 1934, Joyce, was welcomed into the world by Margaret Haughton and James Laird. Growing up in Prospect, St. Elizabeth, she embraced a life of intelligence, diligence, and assistance to her grandmother.
Joyce worked at the Jamaican Omnibus Service in Kingston for some years. It was during this time, she accepted the Lord while attending assembly hall church and then married Phillip Wallace in 1967. Together, they embarked on a new journey in the United States, where Joyce served as a devoted caregiver/nanny for over 25 years, bringing love and joy to the families she cared for.
In her later years, Joyce cared tirelessly for her ailing husband who went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2006. She continued to spread the live of Jesus to everyone until she was called home on January 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion. She is survived by her cherished children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of loved ones.
Joyce D. Wallace, age 89, of Lauderhill, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
A funeral service for Joyce will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, 2101 W. Cypress Creek Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309, followed by a visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
