Funeral services will be held 1300, Friday, April 19, 2019 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Amy Bisnauth of Glen Morris Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens South. Arrangements are by Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Joshua Persaud was born at Better Success, Essequibo Coast, Guyana to Clarice Jasodra Persaud and Paul Poolander Persaud on September 1, 1934. He went to school at University of Guyana. He married Veronica Sukhie Persaud nee Narine on June 1, 1957 in Better Success, Essequibo Coast. He graduated from University of Guyana. He worked as a Public Servant for the Government of Guyana for 34 years. He received the Medal of Service from the Government of Guyana for long service with exceptional dedication in the public service as a local government officer, especially in the hinterland regions of Guyana.
Joshua Persaud is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Veronica Persaud, his parents, three brothers—Percy Persaud, Neil Persaud, and Harry Persaud—sisters Hannah Cecelia Singh, Genevieve Baksh, Joan Laurie, Clarice Jasodra Laurie, and Margaret Pitamber.
Joshua Persaud is survived by his five (5) children: Dawn Ann Munday, Diane White, Derek Persaud, Julian Persaud, and Denyse Hart. Bothers Daniel Persaud, Edwin Persaud, and sisters Amy Bisnauth, Marie Harrypaul, and Cheryl Thomas. Grandchildren: Melissa, Natalia, Adrian, Thomas, Rachel, Cody, Elizabeth, Brandon, Veronica, and Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews
