McGuinness, Jr., John Patrick, 45 years old, passed away unexpectedly last week. Born in Pawtucket R.I., he graduated from Longmeadow High School in Longmeadow, MA. He had been a resident of Ft. Lauderdale for almost 20 years. Known to most around town simply as "Johnny Mac", one of the owners of Archies Bar on East Oakland Park Blvd. and Archies West Bar. His quick wit, charm and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him. His ability to diffuse almost any situation with humor, whether quoting movie lines or making it up as he went along gave him an uncanny knack of being able to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Most recently he had started "Johnny Mac and Sons Pool and Lawn Service", here in Ft. Lauderdale. He leaves his three sons, John Patrick III, Nicholas and Vincent McGuinness of Fort Lauderdale, who he loved more than anything in the world. To see them together was to witness joy and love in it?s purest form. He also leaves his former wife and mother of his children Ellen Rousculp McGuinness. His truly charming and humorous soul will be painfully missed by his parents John Patrick McGuinness Sr. & Barbara A. McGuinness of Ft. Lauderdale Fl. and Providence, R.I. his loving sisters, Deidra Ciolko, Kiara Erbe and Trinna McGuinness and his only brother Anthony McGuinness. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday Sept 18th at 11 AM. At Assumption Church on A1A in Lauderdale by the Sea. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the JNV Education Fund for his sons.
