John Phillip “Jack” Adams of Pompano Beach, Florida has been reunited with his loving wife Mary Lou on November 4, 2024, just one month shy of his 93rd birthday. Born December 4, 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio to John and Eleanor Adams, Jack will be remembered for his love of his family, the outdoors, his service to his country as a proud Marine and his dedication to the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department. He will be always in the hearts of his children, Jeff (Sue), Jennifer (Ward), Bob, and Amy (Mike) and his grandchildren AJ, Cassie, Megan, Kay, Mallory (Andrew), Griffin, Bailey (Carson), Kate and Emily, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and friends in Pompano Beach, Vero Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Youngstown.
A graduate of Fitch High School in Youngstown, Jack and Mary Lou moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1956, where he eventually became a firefighter with the City of Fort Lauderdale. He retired in 1982 and traveled to virtually every state in the US with Mary Lou in a camper. He loved to fish, hunt, camp and shoot, but his pride and joy were his grandchildren. For them, he was always ready with a slightly embellished story to tell or advice and $20 for lunch. Although he most likely would have been happy to sit in the forest and watch the trees grow, ML had other plans. They traveled the world via cruise ship with friends, and even without her coaxing he was always happy to hit the dance floor or dress up for Halloween. They truly lived life to the fullest and always doted on the grandchildren.
While he will be missed terribly by his family, we are happy to know he has been reunited with his parents, sister, friends, and most of all Mary Lou, his wife of 66 years.
