Janet Warren Tennie

Janet Warren was born in Chicago, Illinois to Luis Thompson and Mary Frances Warren on July 5th, 1932. She joined her heavenly father on March 18th, 2024. She married Eddie Lee Tennie Sr. on August 18th in Chicago. She worked as a telephone operator for AT&T, formerly the Illinois Bell Telephone Company, for 35 years until she retired at the ripe old age of 58.

During her lifetime, Janet really lived up to her titles. As a wife, she served her husband until the day of his passing. As a daughter, she set the example of taking care of her mom until the day of her passing. As a mom, she nurtured, educated and cared for children. As a grandmother, naming herself The Grandmamá, she was generous, loving, and spoiled them wonderfully–even to a fault. As a member of the body of Christ, she was a student of the bible and loyal servant of the Lord with her various church memberships along the way. These included Keystone Baptist Church of Chicago, IL, Teri Road Baptist Church of Austin, TX, and Parkridge Church of Coral Springs, FL. As a liver of life, she took advantage of every opportunity to enjoy the gift of God’s creation as much as she could. She traveled extensively–her passports have stamps of countries she visited all over the world. She collected numerous photos and keepsakes that document her travels. For 91 years she truly treated each day as a gift. Now, she’s enjoying her gift of eternal life with her Father in Heaven.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband Eddie L. Tennie Sr. as well as her daughter Phyllis Michelle Tennie, and son Michael Warren. She leaves behind her son Eddie Lee Tennie Jr., her grandchildren: Mikiala C. Tennie, Shayna Arielle Tennie, Joshua E. Tennie, Luke E. Tennie, one great-grandchild, Marina Lucia Tennie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday April 6th at Parkridge Church, 5600 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33065.
