To my dear father in law,

I want you to know that these two beautiful daughters of yours miss you like crazy, as I do too.  We had an amazing Holiday Season this year with all of the family together. Georgie had 75 plus family at his house. We missed you and my mom. It felt so weird. We all got together and said your favorite prayer. All of your grandkids and great grandchildren are growing up. I will do my best to fill your shoes with these little kids. I know you are the funnest and funniest grandpa and I remember how you did it. My time on earth is to LOVE like you did. No one is exempt from getting your love and I’m trying to be like that. Boy I miss you. I love you dearly

Dad, we miss you so much. You were always there. It did not matter to you what people thought or said. You were so full of energy and life with so much unconditional love and unselfishness. You were never a phony person. You said exactly what it was and then moved on without holding grudges or being petty. I know the Lord is taking care of you now. Just as you took care of us as young kids. WE know you had a life before Ms. Frank. Although the pastor failed to mention your previous journey, we knew that life  and lived it with you.  From there’s when  this family grew with love and strength. You are now surrounded by loved ones and connected with your love. Three out of four 😉

 God knows our TRUE HEARTS. Thank you for continuing to watch over us dad.

I worked with George at Bellsouth. I remember when he had hurt his leg and was using a crutch. He would drive  to work using the crutch to work the clutch on his old Jeep. I remember when George told me he wanted a swimming pool and was digging it himself.
George was tough, that's for sure.



Dear Grandpa,

First of all, thank you for being the best father to my mom, and the rest of your children. For if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be the man and father I am today. One of the main themes that comes to mind when I think of you, Grandpa George, is unconditional love and strength. Strength, both physically and mentally. Those bear hugs you always gave me are unforgettable! The most memorable times with you are always working at/on the boat, that boat was always “almost” ready to go haha! We always knew grandpa was at door with the signature scratching of the keys on the glass, that was great! Hold it.... Hold everything!!!!

I love you!

George now I am so happy I have a friend in heaven because you were a friend for many years here on earth. We will always miss you dancing around and around always a gentlemen kind and respectful .
I will miss your happy smile and kind manner.
I am holding your hand and wish you a good journey.

Dear dad,
 I want to start off by saying thank you! The love you gave me always felt so real and so genuine. You always treated me like one of your daughters not just your daughter-in-law. I feel so fortunate to have had you in my life for 25 years; your presence always brought joy and happiness to our entire family. You gave us so many amazing memories and you taught us so much. I hope you felt how much we loved you and looked up to you and admired you.  I hope you know the importance you had in our lives and the impact you had on all your children.   I can say that I speak for the entire family when I say that to us you represented strength, love, and selflessness.  

Dad I want to thank you for giving me such a good man, your son George. A man that’s strong and takes care of his family just like you did. Thank you for showing him the way.  I also want to  thank you for giving me two sisters  Wella and Erika who I love with all my heart.  

There are no words that can express the empty space in our hearts that only you can fill.  You will be greatly missed not just by us but by your Church family, you Happy Pappy’s family, your German club family, You family back in Germany and all the countless lives you’ve touched. 
You’re irreplaceable... that’s for sure, but we will make sure that your legacy lives on, that your traditions live on , and that the German roots that you embedded into all of us live on in your name , the STERR name, forever.

I’ll miss you George. You were such a wonderful person with a big heart. I pray for all the family to have peace and comfort knowing you are with GOD. 
You are going to be so missed by so many people. 

It is with great sadness that I find myself sharing my heart as this exceptional man  rests in peace! George Sterr !! A wonderful man who lived his life with great intention and has left a soft mark on my heart! The most delightful man who was a strong influence on my son jacks life!! A man who at a time in my life, came through for me and my children! A pleasure to know you Dear George!! Thank you for your goodness! Love  and peace be with you! 

I am going to miss the greatest man I ever knew. George was not only my father in law, he was my mentor. I was only a teenager when I met George. I pulled up to his house to go see my new girlfriend and he came out to my car with his tidy whites on. He wanted to see my loud 1970 firebird and I wanted to see my new hot girlfriend, Manuela. A few years later I asked him if I can marry his daughter and he said “sure, but you must take care of her forever”. I said I will and I have. George cared for me after all of my illnesses and surgeries. He made sure that I was well taken care of. I was able to repay the love when he fell ill. I am the luckiest man alive to have had George as my father in law. GOD is taking care of George right now and George can finally meet my father and his Annie again. I’m hurting terribly inside for his passing but I’m confident that his legacy will carry on through all of us he left on earth. I love you dearly George. No worries here because my promise to care for you daughter is lifelong and I’m loving it every day. My children and grandchildren will carry your name with great dignity. Love your son, jack
