George was born 87 years ago in Newark New Jersey to parents who originated in Austria. They had a strong influence on him and he frequently quoted sayings from those childhood days. George's mother, who outlived his father was blessed to be with him for a while after she became infirm.
A lover of animals, he opened a pet shop before relocating to Miami Florida. In Miami, he started a successful career marketing a variety of insurance products. While there he met and married his beloved Caridad. The couple had 2 children, George Jr and Susanah. A son Michael is their half-brother, from his first marriage.
George Jr and Susanah grew up with their father and mother in Miami. This was a loving and happy family. They lost Caridad in an untimely manner but found the strength necessary to face such a difficult situation. The house which George had purchased was a source of security for most of his time in South Florida, about 50 years.
George was proud of his children's accomplishments.
He was blessed with many grandchildren and even great grands about all of whom he knew. Fortunately, his children and family spent precious time with him in their homes a few years ago.
George was a gem with many sparkling sides. He brightened the world with his humor and wit. As an insurance agent he was voted "Most Congenial" during one event. His warm "I bid you welcome" to his guests was a joy to receive. He always had words of wisdom on any topic to be discussed. History, science etc. Shortly before retirement, he formed a lasting relationship with a female companion Margaret to whom he was close for about 30 years.
We as a family wish that George could have lived forever. Anyway we know that is never possible. We are grateful for his life which was long compared to most. He certainly knew how to enjoy his chosen pleasures on earth. Concerts, sports, movies and so on. He was entertained by the language of music reviews.
George believed in God and the promise of salvation.
Thanks for the foundation you laid so we can continue building.
We will cherish our memories of you.
We will love you forever.
