Edward Wellesley Clarke was born on July 20th, 1929. He was born to the late Uriah and Fidelia Clarke and was raised in his hometown of West Moreland, Jamaica. He was married to his queen, Iris Clarke for 67 years. He died on March 1, 2022, at his residence in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Edward Clarke was a loving husband and father. He was charismatic, authoritative, and protective. He was an amazing and engaging storyteller. He had a great depth and breadth of knowledge. He spoke on many subjects and put the encyclopedia to shame.
He loved the world news, Jeopardy, and he was always up to date on current affairs. He enjoyed his time at the racetrack and working on vehicles. Most of his professional career was mechanical engineering.
He worked at Desnoes and Geddes Limited (D&G) for over 20 years, in New York City, and he opened his own mechanic shop in Florida. However, he never stopped tinkering with vehicles and giving advice
to anyone who had a car problem. But out of all these things he probably enjoyed storytelling with his family the most. This simple pleasure of sharing life with them meant the world to him.
He left behind a beautiful legacy in his family. This is what he would call “His Blessing”. His quiver was full in that he left behind seven children, fourteen grandchildren, and 10 great- grandchildren.
Edward will be dearly missed.
