Dorothy Mae Costa passed away peacefully at the Health Center of Merritt Island, Merritt Island, Florida on August 25, 2012. Born in Ephrata, PA on September 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Gertrude (Feil) Morrow of Ephrata, PA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Winifred Kilhefner, and two brothers, Donald and James Morrow.
A loving mother and wife, she was married twice: Martin Watson, reported missing in action when his ship was torpedoed in the North Atlantic, February 7, 1943, and her husband of 54 years, Frederick Costa, who preceded her in death, in 2000.
A graduate of Ephrata High School, Ephrata, Pennsylvania, she began a career as a dancer, and went on to become a dancing instructor, with prospects of expanding her talents to include singing. Instead, she devoted her life to providing a home for her family and raising her three boys
She will be remembered for her sense of humor, a passion for reading, the enjoyment she received from doing jigsaw puzzles and word games, and her love of travel. A self-proclaimed “gypsy,” she enjoyed time spent with family on vacations at the Jersey shore, in Canada, Mexico, England and Scotland, Paris France, Italy and most recently, Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Surviving are three sons: Douglas Costa of Davie, Florida; Robert Costa of New Holland, Pennsylvania; Kevin Costa of Boca Raton, Florida. She also leaves behind a brother, Charles Morrow, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
