Diep Hoang Thi Luu was born in Ninh Binh, Vietnam on October 30, 1946. After her studies at the university, she began working as a data specialist for the U.S. Embassy in Saigon. It was during this time that she met and married her one true love, Son Luong Nguyen. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a hardworking professional during the tumultuous years of the Vietnam War. Facing the threat of impending communism, her status at the embassy enabled her to single-handedly coordinate her entire family’s escape to the United States prior to the fall of Saigon.
As a refugee in a foreign country, she had to start anew. She began working in an assembly line at a fruit farm, and later as a seamstress at a clothing manufacturer. With fortitude and determination, she became a data entry specialist for a utility company and finally, a finance account specialist for a successful property management company. She remained there for 20 years and was honored for her hard work, commitment, and loyalty when she later retired.
Diep Hoang Thi Luu was a devout Buddhist and her religious beliefs led her to live a life of love, kindness, and compassion. Her friendly nature and signature smile brightened every room she entered. She was a giving and generous soul who saw only the very best in others and encouraged everyone to shine. She was an exemplary role model of motherhood for her own family as well as for all others who have known her. She will always be remembered for her joyful demeanor, her selfless love for others, and her generous giving spirit. She will stay forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
Our family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love, support, prayers, heartfelt condolences, flowers, and charitable donations during our time of bereavement.
