Cora Una Anne Fisher

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom Cora of Sunrise, FL. On Tuesday, December 26, she went to be with the Lord at the age of 86.

She will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Norrine Sweeney, Glenn (Ms. No), Charles Jr. (Joann), JoAnne (John), Anthony (Kim), and honorary daughter Debora (Gregory). Beloved grandmother to Safiya (Casio), Suhrim (Dan), Charles III, John Jr., Anaiah, Joshua, JoElle, Bider, and great grandmother to Alice and Louise. She will also be remembered by her brother John Carney (France), and cousin Denis Daly of Montreal as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by longtime friend Joshua Becker and many others.

Cora was predeceased by her loving husband Charles of 40 years and beautiful granddaughter Lindsey.

Cora was born and raised in Montreal, Canada to Rose Sweeney and Vernon Carney. Cora left to marry Charles, who was in the US Air Force, in Burlington, Vermont at the age of 21 later moving permanently to the US. Cora was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going on cruises with Charles. In 2019 Cora had a memorable time on her visit to Montreal which would be her last trip home.

A memorial service will be held in Cora's memory Saturday, January 20, 2024, at The Bridge Church 9300 Pembroke Road, Miramar, FL. 33025 at 1p.m.
