Charles Edmand Walters, Age 77, of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014. He was born in Paw Paw, Oklahoma on March 10, 1936. He attended Hadley High School in St Louis, MO but dropped out to work and to help take care of his family. He earned his GED while in the Marine Corps. After leaving the Marine Corps., he took miscellaneous classes at Washington University to further his careers which prepared him for life.
Charles, or Chuck as he liked to be called, joined the Marine Corps on April 30, 1956, where he served as a private first class in Bridgeport, California. His platoon was the number one platoon in the Marines in marksmanship. He always loved to brag about how good of a shot he was. He moved to the reserves on April 17, 1958 and was finally released on April 29, 1962.
Chuck was one of six children born to Mona and Curnel l Walters. He had 3 brothers Oscar, Bob and Carl and 2 sisters, Lois and Gerry. He married Wanda Hutson on May 30, 1959 and two years later their only son Charles Aaron was born. Aaron grew up and married Peggy McFarland on March 24 1984. Aaron and Peggy had 2 children; Joshua Aaron on February 18, 1989 and Jenna Marie on November 15, 1993.
Chuck had many diverse talents and jobs over the years. He did some deer and pheasant hunting as well as took flying lessons to learn to fly a small Cessna. He worked as a baker, insurance Agent, car salesmen, owned a sausage and cheese store but his love was a formalwear and dry cleaners that he owned.
Chuck always had a joke to tell or a funny story to share. He never met a stranger; he always made a big impression on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.
