Alex Zamora, whose full name is Alejandro Antonio Zamora, II, was born in West Boca Medical Center, on February 4, 1998, in Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Florida, to Alejandro Antonio Zamora and Mary Kay Kleinpeter-Zamora. Alex has three siblings, his sister Alexa Zamora and his brothers, Robert Haire and Kade Kleinpeter. Alex lived his last three years in Riviera Isles and previously lived in Crystal Sound in Silver Lakes, Miramar, from the time of his birth.. He was fondly referred to as “Baby Alex” by his Mommy, Sister, friends and family.
Alex attended Silver Lakes Elementary School, Glades Middle School, Archbishop McCarthy High School and Everglades High School. He was in the 10th grade when he died. He was not too fond of school and was in the process of promising to take school more seriously. Alex was a player and free soul. He loved to live to the fullest!
Alex loved sports; he played soccer, basketball, baseball and other sports, like skiing, from an early age. Alex was an excellent goal keeper and shooting guard. He played soccer and basketball from the age of 5 until recently with the Miramar PAL, He started playing pee-wee baseball in the Miramar Optimist Baseball League like his brothers Robert and Kade, since the age of 3. He talked his father into being a volunteer as coach. Little Alex was more interested in having cool water from the thermos and running around the field than throwing the ball.
Alex started wrestling in high school and recently wanted to start boxing. He liked extreme sports, like Brazilian Jujitsu and mixed Martial Arts, which he did while in Middle School. Alex loved to go to the gym with his friends to work out and build his beautiful body. He was starting to turn into a handsome young man from a beautiful child. Alex liked photography from the time of Middle School about the same time that he started collecting sneakers. He did a photo shoot in South beach a few years ago for some friends that were starting a T-shirt business and took some beautiful pictures that were amazingly professional looking.
Alex loved to have fun; he loved to play hard and party! Alex was real cool and had great taste for the finest things in life. Alex was a free spirit. Happy and Joyful with his friends, to his family he was our Baby and our angle, Alex is our HERO, the loving son that will live on forever. Alex was a brave young man ready to take risks without at times foreseeing the cost or consequences. He wore mainly sneakers, T-shirts, shorts, jeans and rarely khakis for a very special occasion.
Alex died while doing what he loved; all while having fun and playing hard as he would have wanted to go. Alex felt little pain from the accident. He hit his head and lost consciousness immediately. However, he clung on and fought until his little body could no longer survive. He lived his short life at times in the fast lane. Alex was a fighter and a challenger! Alex left us as a child. Innocent and free from sin. Alex is now our angel in heaven, watching over us. Our Lord took him from us for whatever inexplicable reason there may be.
His family takes comfort in knowing that Alex knew the Lord and prayed often. He was baptized, made his first holy communion and was confirmed at St. Edwards Catholic Church.
Alex was a young man who had a liking for fine clothes and apparel , like Louis Vuitton and Gucci belts and wallets, True Religion jeans and T’s, Nike’s, Jordan’s, Ralph Lauren, The 110’s and BBC T’s and many other fine things. Alex liked G-Shock watches, but lately preferred Movado and Michael Kors watches.
Above all his great qualities, Alex had a BIG heart! He would open up when he felt comfortable and he would share himself fully. He was funny and a joker. He was especially very sensitive and a beautiful person, though in the outside he was strong, in the inside he was soft and tender like a baby. Alex was and will always be his parents and his sibling’s Baby Alex, but he was a strong young man with determination, backbone and profound deep feelings.. Alex wanted a world where people were kind, loving, and PEACEFUL! Alex is now where that world exists. He is an angel in heaven. We all wish that he would be here with us forever but he is in heaven with our Lord. Where all is abundant, where the water flows for all, the honey and milk feeds everyone. Where there is no pain, hunger, anger or need.
One of Alex’s great accomplishments was his entrepreneurial spirit, selling candy in elementary school and later Jordan’s, Louis Vuitton’s, electronics and various other things. At one time, when Alex was in the 7th, 8th and 9th grade, he was active in The Dunk Exchange and on E-bay, buying and selling sneakers among his friends and associates. He managed to collect up to 40 pairs of sneakers. His favorite pair was the Air Jordan 11 Concords. Alex was a multitasker. He would watch TV while at the same time chatting with friends and making plans.
Alex really liked his motorcycle, which Alex bought with his own money. He promised never to ride it without a helmet or in the back-roads, without permission. Alex just could not help himself from frolicking with his buddy’s, without his helmet and without permission.
Alex LOVED rap music, his favorite artists were Curren$y, Gucci Mane, Tupac, Jay-Z, Kanye West and may others, like Lil Wayne, Biggie Smalls, etc. Music that moved him in his own special way. Recently, one of his favorite songs was Studio by Schoolboy Q. However, Alex also liked to listen to other music like reggae, like Jammin from Bob Marley, and classic rock, like Stairways to Heaven, from Led Zeppelin, Simple Man, from Leonard Skinner, Supernatural from Carlos Santana and many others. As much as he liked listening to music he also liked going to concerts and parties.
Alex traveled the world and was a world traveler going to cruises in Europe, Alaska, New England and Canada as well as the Caribbean. He traveled since he was an infant to Guatemala and Louisiana, later California, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Spain, France, Italy, and Sicily. He loved the Florida Keys and to take trips to Orlando. He was amazed of the beauty and diversity of the different places and countries. At the age of 13 he visited his Dad’s homeland and place of birth, Santa Ana, El Salvador. Alex was amazed of the underdevelopment of the small town that was Dad’s hometown, as well as of the beauty of Lake Coatepeque and meeting in San Salvador relatives and friends that he never knew that he had.
Of all of Alex’s worldly possessions, Alex’s Iphone5 was his most prized possession, which he slept with. We have heard that his tweets would go on to the early hours of the morning.
