Ada Rowe, 88, departed this life peacefully into the hands of the Lord in her own bed on February 7, 2015 under the loving care of her family, her friends at Brookdale & Hospice at her residence at Brookdale in Sunrise, Florida.
Born Ada Ruth Butcher on October 11, 1926 in Ferndale Michigan, the daughter of Roy & Ruth Butcher. She moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1953 with her former husband and raised her three sons there. She worked as a bookkeeper for the school board until she retired.
Ada loved to dance, read novels and watch movies. But mostly she loved to spend time with her family and friends and would rarely miss an opportunity to visit with her grandchildren. An avid crafter and knitter, she made hundreds of needlepoint items and afghan blankets that she gave to those she loved. Ada had many friends during her lifetime because she was a really good and loyal friend to have. She would do anything to help someone out. Ada’s life was devoted to serving others. She was an excellent card player and an animal lover. Ada was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family immensely and enjoyed sharing stories with others about her grandchildren.
Ada is survived by her three sons and their wives; Mark & Janet Rowe of Birmingham, AL, Gary & Mary Anne Rowe of Hollywood, FL and Jon & Stacy Rowe of Tamarac, FL. She is also survived by her 6 beloved grandchildren; Julia, Jon, Tia, Jessi, Teddy, and Michael Rowe.
Ada was predeceased by her parents, Roy & Ruth Butcher, and her older sister, Margaret Gordon.
