One of the hardest things I have ever done is write your obituary because then I have to admit we are never going to see you again. To find the right words…You were the BEST, the most loving, kind, good hearted man with eyes that twinkled every time you smiled. And that was often! You were my team mate, my husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, and a friend.
You were strong – you gave us strength to have you home during your fight and for that we are blessed.
You were born on the family farm March 16, 1953 to Stephen and Mary Caul, the youngest of three. Farming was in your blood and you did it with love and pride – ALWAYS. Whether it was 4H in your younger years, being a part of the Cattleman’s Association or simply working the fields you were never “JUST” a farmer but a true “Country Gentleman”.
For many years you played ball with the family, coached the boys hockey – you were there to cheer and encourage all the kids activities and life decisions. You were OUR MENTOR, OUR ROCK!!
You and I were together every day- at home, owning a business, working for others, and enjoying family time. Our life adventures led to more talents, more experiences and a wealth of great friendships.
When you retired in 2011 after nearly 40 years with the Town of Fort Frances you left knowing that you had given it your all. You were a very hard working dedicated employee. You were so proud of your accomplishments: The new airport terminal, the airport wildlife management program, keeping the cemeteries looking their best and bringing new playground equipment to the parks. You were very grateful to your staff and those who helped/worked with you to achieve your goals. Another big highlight was working with your parents, sisters and other volunteers for many years doing the July 1st fireworks.
There are so many more wonderful things that I could say but I can hear you asking “Are you writing a novel?” I just want you to know how much you are admired and respected by your family and friends.
You have taken a piece of our hearts to heaven- Those of us missing you are myself (LuAnne); our children Stacy (Paul) Patey, Jamie, Shawn (Vanessa), Aaron (Nicole) and Jon (Amanda); You Grampa Bill, “The Tickle Monster” are missed so much already by your grand”BRATS”. They love you to the moon and BACK!
Also grieving are your sisters Betty Ann (Len) Laroque and June Caul, my family; Wanda (Al) Linder, Marvin(Eileen) Arnold, Betty (Jim) Staples and your forever friend my mother Gladyce Arnold, your Aunt Bette (Dolly) Martinson, Uncle Joe Armbruster, many nieces, nephews and cousins will forever remember you.
We love you Bill Caul – TODAY – TOMORROW & ALWAYS
A celebration of life will be held Friday September 23,2016 at 5:00pm, at The Caul Home, 1940 McIrvine Road, Fort Frances, Ontario
