Miron (Marvin) Bodnar

February 10, 1943 – March 15, 2020
Obituary of Miron (Marvin) Bodnar
It is with great sadness that the family of Miron (Marvin) Bodnar announces his sudden passing on Sunday March 15, 2020.

Marvin was the son of Joseph and Dominia Bodnar. Born in Cooks Creek, Manitoba on February 10, 1943.

At a young age his family moved to Crozier, ON, his home until his passing.

Marvin worked with his father and brothers delivering coal to customers in Fort Frances.

Marvin attended public school at the Alberton No. 1 Public School in Crozier and later the Fort Frances high School. His first job after graduating was at the CN Office Station on Fort Frances. At this time he took on the responsibility of supporting his mother and younger siblings. He spent several years at the CN Office until its closing. He went on to work for Boise Cascade Paper mill and retiring with Resolute Paper Mill.

Marvin loved to spend time hunting and fishing at his cabin on Tupman Lake. This meant spending time with family, which he loved. Family was important to Marvin.

Marvin was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and loved to make the Ukrainian food we all grew up on (especially his headcheese). We will all miss his wonderful cooking and baking.

Marvin is survived by his siblings Ann Cain of Kingston, ON, Edward Bodnar of Fort Frances, Norman (Lecea) Bodnar of Thunder Bay, ON, Evelyn (Frank) Myers of Fort Frances, ON and Eleanor (Steve) Johanson of Thunder Bay, ON; sisters-in-law Doreen Bodnar, Lillian Bodnar, Edith Bodnar and Cheryl Bodnar along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Marvin was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Dominia Bodnar; brothers Mike, William, John and Paul Bodnar; sister Olga Dawkins; sister-in-law Helen Bodnar and brothers-in-law Leon Swire and Raymond Cain.

Now along with his father, mother and siblings, they will all meet him at heaven’s door.

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Online condolences may be made on care of www.greenfuneralhomefortfrances.com.

God bless you Marvin!

Love your family!
