Mary Williams

The family of Mary Williams is sad to announce the passing of their mother and grandmother. At age 75 she peacefully slipped away with family at her side on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at LaVerendrye Hospital.

Mary was born Tuesday, January 19, 1937 in Newcastle, England and married John Williams of Dunston, England on July 20, 1957. After the birth of their 3 children the family spent a year in Africa before moving to Atikokan in 1973 and then moved to Fort Frances in 1982.

All who knew Mary loved her for her feisty and unpretentious character. Her love to dance with husband John and in later years with her special friends brought much joy and happiness to her life. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, volunteering with the special Olympics, and working various jobs amongst the public, but enjoyed nothing more than her children and grandchildren.

Mary is predeceased by her husband John, her parents George & Eleanor and sister Doreen.

She is survived by her children John & Dianne Williams, Alan & Annette Williams, Carol & Don McDermid, grandchildren Mindy and fiance Naman, Tyler, and Erin Williams, Morgan, Hannah, and Sarah McDermid, and very special niece Gillian Gallagher and family Peter, Meghan, and Laura of Norwich, England as well as numerous

relatives throughout England.

As per their mother's wishes the family will not be holding a public service and have held a private family ceremony. Friends are invited to view a memorial slideshow honouring Mary and sign the guest book at www.greenfuneralhomefortfrances.com
