She was born on August 13th, 1927, in Fort Frances, Ontario. She was the fourth born of seven children, but the first to be born in Canada. Her parents had moved to Canada from
Wantage, Berkshire, England in 1924.
Following High School Graduation she travelled to North Bay, Ontario, for a year of “Normal School” to recieve her teaching qualifications. Mary then agreed to teach in Stratton for three years and then in Fort Frances for two years. In July of 1952 she married Bruce Biddeson and resided at the Biddeson homestead on River Road for the majority of her life. She happily did some substitute teaching locally before she started having children. She faithfully attended Bethel Baptist Church, becoming a lifetime member. She was dedicated to supporting those who did overseas and local mission work. She was involved in children's and women’s ministries and sang in the church choir. She was also a faithful Gideon Auxiliary member, for nearly 40 years. She and husband Bruce enjoyed traveling, especially to Israel. Also alongside Bruce she was a dedicated Board member for, “Save our Station”, “Door of Hope” and the Christian Radio Station KBHW and the Fort Frances Horticultural Society.
She loved bowling, gardening, cooking/baking, practicing conversational French, playing the piano for her for personal enjoyment and sewing. She especially enjoyed spending time with and taking care of family, including her aging mother-in-law for many years.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Daughter Beth (Rod) Enns; Daughter Nancy (Andrew) Palmer; Son, Daniel Biddeson;
Grandchildren: Derek (Ashley) Enns; Allison Enns; Nathan Enns; Jacob Palmer; Sarah Palmer.
Great Grandchild: Aubrey Marie Enns.
Surviving Siblings; Sister, Violet Fawcett; Brother, Ted (Nora) Evans; Sister, Joan (Rick) McCutcheon.
She was predeceased by Husband, Bruce Biddeson; Daughter, Ruth Diane Biddeson; Son, Thomas Biddeson; Son, Joseph Alfred Biddeson; Parents, Florence Winifred & John Percy Evans; Sister Connie Pierce (Michael); Sister, Renee (Jim) Gartshore; Brother John Evans; Sister-in-law, Doreen Evans; Brother-in-Law, Earl Fawcett; Nephew, Michael McCutcheon; Mother-in-law and
Father-in-law, Lida Mae and Joseph Biddeson.
The Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 22nd at Greens Funeral Home from 7-9pm. The Funeral Service was held at 11 am, Wednesday, May 23rd at Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating. The graveside service directly followed the funeral service, at Riverview Cemetery.
