The families of the late Edith L. Carlson wish to announce her passing on Dec.30,2013. She was born in Int'l Falls, Minn., on Nov.8,1924 to Engel & Lulu Engleson. She graduated from high school & than worked in the office for O&M & later during the war with a friend moved to Detroit, Mich., and worked there for several years. She returned to Int'l Falls, & met & married Raymond Carlson on Feb.12,1946. Year's later she worked for Eaton's & Bell Canada until her retirement. She enjoyed curling in younger year's & reading & looking after her 3 cat's. She was a member of the Scandanavian Club, & Son's of Norway(Int'l Fall's)Club. She enjoyed the occasional lunch ¡ The Senior Center with friend's. She was recognized by the Volunteer Bureau for her efforts towards The Good Neighbor Outreach Program. She also volunteered ¡ Rainycrest in the Tuck Shop. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her Saturday morning's with the Coffee Crew & she enjoyed her trip's to the Casino , and lunches through out the establishment's in the Rainy River District with a friend of her's. She was predeceased by her parent's & 2 sister's & 2 brother's. She leaves to mourn her son Rick & sister & brother-in-law Lois & Doug Medhurst & numerous friend's & relatives in USA & Canada. Memorial's can donated to Rainycrest, the hospital, & animal shelter's. Special thank's to Dr. Nugent & staff ¡ the hospital and Rainycrest. Cremation has taken place. A service & luncheon will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9/14 at 5 pm. Pastor Brian Keffer is officiating. Anyone needing a ride can contact Doug ¡ Gold Star Taxis 274-7638.
