Marion was born on September 6, 1932 in Devlin, Ontario to Murdoch and Libby McKay. She was united in marriage on October 12, 1957 to Melvin Humphrey and they moved to Atikokan in 1959. From there moved to Saskatchewan in 1962 returning to Fort Frances in 1967 and stayed here to raise their family. Marion worked in the MNR Office for many years before retiring. Her and Melvin enjoyed traveling and camping, that was always their kind of holiday She was a member of the Red Hat society, an avid quilter, she used to enjoy her curling bonspiels with the MNR girls and she loved to bake. She always had a variety of sweets on hand for everyone's sweet tooth."
She was predeceased by her parents Murdoch and Libby; husband Melvin on October 18, 2002 and siblings Kenny, Bill, Frazer, Norman, Peg, Kate, Jim and Alan.
She leaves behind her sons Kirk (Donna) of Hinton, AB and Kim of Fort Frances; daughter Shari (Pete) of Fort Frances, ON; grandchildren April Matheson, Dylan (Ariel) and Alexandra Humphrey; great granddaughter Melody; sisters Marie Lawres and Loretta Ivanowich; brothers Wayne (Doreen) McKay and Dale McKay as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Marion’s life will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 11 until 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29 in Fort Frances, ON.
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held.
