with her family by her side.
Anne was born February 9, 1924 in Cooks Creek, Manitoba to William and Sophie Luchka, one of seven children. She married Albert Joseph Turgeon in 1942 and together they had four children.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1972, her son Charles in 2009 and her son Albert in 2020. Anne was also predeceased by her brothers Norman, Walter, Paul and John, and sisters Dora and Antonia.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Evelyn Rawn (Bruce), her son Toonie (Linda) Turgeon,
daughters-in-law Barbara and Linda, grandchildren Shannon Rawn (Trina), Tom Rawn (Tina), Michelle George (Larry), Sean Turgeon, Michael Turgeon, Sheri Turgeon (Dan), Jim Turgeon (Jenn), Donna
Hutchison (Kevin) as well as many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her granchildren all held a very special place in her heart. She was a very proud Gramma.
Anne was a devout Catholic and a member of the CWL for over 40 years. She was also a dedicated
Montreal Canadiens fan. Her granchildren share her love of hockey and many enjoy playing hockey.
One of Anne’s favourite places was Hawaii and she travelled there oft en in her younger years.
A Blue Hawaii was her cocktail of choice. Another meaningful trip she made was to her birthplace Cooks Creek. She was able to visit the Grotto that was built by the congregation of her church while she was a member there.
Anne was a feisty independent person “Period”. She spent many happy hours with her friend Mary. She was also an excellent cook and traditional Ukrainian dishes were among her specialties when family gathered.
She will be greatly missed.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 20th at
St. Mary’s Church. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at a later date.
If so desired In Memoriam donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church or Emo Hospital Long
Term Care Unit.
