Maywood, Illinois. Born on July 10, 1974, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Marlowe
Morehead.
Monique was known for her quiet and reserved demeanor, but those close to her were privy to
her infectious laugh, deep love for reading, and her musical talent as a flutist in her high school
marching band. She was a proud alumna of Niles High School, Niles, MI and later, Xavier
University of Louisiana, New Orleans, LA, where she graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy
degree (PharmD).
Professionally, Dr. Monique Morehead dedicated herself to the field of pharmacy, where she
was respected by her colleagues and the various pharmaceutical industry partners. However,
the light of her life was her daughter, Jocelyn. Her personal life was deeply rooted in her faith,
as a committed member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church.
Beyond her professional and spiritual commitments, Monique had a rich personal life filled with
hobbies that included traveling the world, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and attending
musicals, operas, and concerts. She was also an excellent cook and baker, often spending
time in the kitchen preparing meals for her daughter, family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles C. Morehead II and her mother, Marlowe D.
Morehead.
Monique leaves her daughter, Jocelyn M. Davis, in the care of her loving father, Calvin R. Davis;
and those left to celebrate and cherish her life are her sister, Michelle D. Morehead; stepfather,
Billie R. Elder and a host of beloved family and friends.
