Joan E. Schroeder

Joan Elizabeth Schroeder, nee Rylands, 63, of LaGrange Highlands passed away February 18, 2016 surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. Beloved wife for 42 years of John. Loving mother of Anna (Kevin) Waszak and the late Alan. Cherished grandmother of Cole and Emma. Fond sister of Craig Rylands M.D., Keith Rylands, and Beth Rylands. Many loving nieces and nephews. Joan was a longtime member of the Berwyn - Oak Park PEO and Highland Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, and was an Insurance Broker for small claims groups for many years. Joan and John had lived for a time in South Korea at which time she was the volunteer coordinator of the USO. Visitation will be held on Monday February 22, 2016 from 2 PM to 8 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.
