On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, Edward Krygoski, loving companion and father of 3, passed away at the age of 99. He was born on December 11, 1921 in East Chicago, IN to Jacob and Balbina Krygoski. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret who passed away at the age of 46, and his 11 brothers and sisters.
He served in Northern France and Central Europe during WWII, where he earned a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. After the war, he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Purdue University. He later married Margaret Mihalik and raised 3 daughters, Carol (Tom), Linda and Martha (Rich). After retiring as an Supervising Engineer at Inland Steel, he met Lorraine Mills who remained his life long and devoted companion. In retirement he enjoyed traveling with Lorraine, ballroom dancing, tennis and biking along the Highland bike path.
Ed will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends, his quick wit and amazing ability to fix anything that was broken. He believed in a simple, practical life and the importance of getting a good education. He will be missed for his companionship and his BIG personality.
