Born in Philadelphia on July 26, 1940 to Dinah Silverman and Nathan Kane. He was a graduate of the University of Miami and received a Masters degree in Mathematics.
Sherman was a beautiful and loving soul. An excellent musician, whose love of music and the piano enhanced the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ella Puccio. Their nearly half-century romance was a life fully lived. One step-daughter, Heather Cammack, two daughters, Erica Kane and Jacqueline Kane, one grandson, Kevin Cammack-Miller, two sisters, Sara Kane and Clare Kane, one nephew, Noah Kane Smalls, and many good friends. He leaves kindness behind.
A funeral service for Sherman will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 7800 Myrtle Avenue, Glendale, NY 11385.
