Robert Goldman was born in Brooklyn on September 2, 1947, moved to Queens at the age of 2, and resided there for the rest of his life. He loved music —he was first violinist in his high-school orchestra—concerts; theater; movies; museums; word puzzles; photography; dogs and cats; and traveling. He especially enjoyed driving. Cars were a passion, and he was proud of being able to drive expertly on the right-hand side in England and Ireland. He loved cars so much that selling them became his second profession (he’d also worked in the insurance industry) because discussing automobiles gave him joy, as did his family: He was married to wife Carol for 48 years and was the proud father of daughter Wendy. Bob was board president of his coop in Briarwood for many years and loved to make others laugh with his clever puns. He’ll be greatly missed.
A committal service for Robert will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 7800 Myrtle Avenue, Glendale, NY 11385.
