Richard R. Young of Lakewood New Jersey passed away at 77 years old on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was born July 3, 1947 in Manhattan New York. He moved to Brooklyn when he was a young boy. He graduated Sheepshead Bay High School in 1964. From 1966 to 1968 he served in the United States Army. During his tour in Vietnam, he received 2 Purple Hearts as a result of his bravery in combat.
Richie was an avid hunter and fisherman known for the Slow and Steady boat in Gerritsen Beach. He always looked forward to his yearly hunting trips upstate with his friends. Loved ones were always sure to be in for some filets of fish or venison upon his return.
Richie also travelled the world with his wife Arlene. An international cruise to the Galapagos and road tips to our country’s National Parks were highlights of the many adventures they would go on annually.
Richie was dedicated to his family and friends, known as “Mr. Fixit” to all. He loved to laugh and was a warm, sentimental person.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene, daughter Amanda, granddaughter Sloan, Son Larry Goldschlager, daughter in law Leesy, grandchildren Frances and Matthew, Son Gregg Goldschlager, son in law Carlos, Son Steve Goldschlager, daughter in law Margaret, grandchildren Jessica and Joshua.

A chapel service for Richard will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the chapel service will be a committal service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mount Hebron Cemetery,
