I only knew Jeff online as we posted on the same message boards but I always liked him. He was intelligent thoughtful and there was nothing more important to him than his kids.

He was always the nicest guy.  He had a story for all occasions and was always looking out for people

I want to send along our heartfelt condolences from everyone at the Geek Family blogs (GeekDad and GeekMom). Over the last four years, Jeff had written over 300 family music reviews that helped inform and expose our readers to the larger world of great music available for parents to share with their kids. Jeff was a wonderful person, and his loss will be felt in the children's music community. He was one of the rare journalists who regarded the genre seriously, and his reviews on his blog and for Geekdad were always thoughtul and helpful to parents looking for quality media for their children. I join everyone in the community in sending condolences to Jeff's family, and especially to the sons he loved so much - Ben and Matt.   Thank you, Jeff, for all of the goodness you added to the world!

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I knew Jeffrey from Information Builders.  He really was a nice man.  May his memory always be a blessing to you.



He called me "Kiddo" from the very first time we met in person , he was the first to support and champion  me and my husband as people , and as an artist. He stood up for me , always had my back and went above and beyon to help me. Our last conversation 2 weeks  ago  we we were  planning  to meet up when I was in NYC  in November.   Jeff…I'm so glad  YOU didn't quit being a reviewer. I know he had said at one point  now that his  boys were a little older he didn't know if  he should still be  reviewing family music? ( I'm sure many other colleagues  might have said something similar)   but I said  “you're an amazing writer who is still a dad and will always be a dad  and most importantly  you LOVE music and the arts and  “ US INDIE people”  who work so hard at building our craft NEED you!”
To Jeff's  sons  it was because of  you boys  whom he  loved and adored so much that I had the honor of  getting to to know  due to   the love of music & the arts you all shared togehter.
Right now I feel like  a fighter in the ring  who just lost  its  coach. 
My husband and I are sending our  deepest  condolences  to his sons , Jeff's Mom and Brothers .
