I had the privilege to work with Susan at Cardozo. She always had a smile on her face, even when she was doing 3rd floor hallway duty trying to get all the students to class. She truly cared about the school and her colleagues. She will be missed. My condolences to her family.

It pains me to say this, especially knowing that Mrs. Rohan will forever be missed. My heart goes out to her family. Even though I didn’t get to know her very well, I always respected her as a teacher. She was always on time, showing up with a smile and ready to teach. It hurts to know she will not be with us anymore, and to see her only in my memories, smiling, knowing I won’t have the chance to see her again. She taught my trigonometry class, and her passion for teaching was clear. No matter what, she was always willing to help. Her smile when we understood a problem, or when we asked questions—no matter how simple—showed the kind of teacher she was. She never hesitated to answer, and that meant a lot to me. For that, I say thank you, Mrs. Rohan. You will always be in our hearts.

Where do I start... Sue is one of the most approachable person I know. Very warm, energetic, kind, assertive, funny, open, smart, and compassionate, I can go on. And Sue fostered a beautiful family along with Fred, Adam, and Amanda. I can only imagine what kind of an educator she must have been, touching so many lives  throughout her life and thereafter. I am so blessed to know Sue and her family, and her entire extended family. It is unreal to me that she is not with us on earth any more. Her presence is still felt, yet the absence feels so gapingly huge.  My deepest condolences to Fred, Adam, Amanda and the family.  I deeply mourn such a big and incredulous loss to our community.

I did go to Cardozo but I actually met Professor Rohan in QCC Algebra. I was one of her favorites in the class and she was a sweetheart. She was very knowledgeable and down to earth. This is truly an upsetting thing to hear. Sending love and prayers to the family of Professor Rohan and may she RIP.

Being the youngest of all the siblings and the baby of the family, Sue never treated me like a baby. When we played cards as a kid she never just let me win. She challenged me and made me work hard and though I couldn’t stand it then, I respect her for it now. Sue knew how to make people feel respected, special and appreciated. She was generous and full of joy. I was lucky to have her as my big sister.

Professor Rohan was amazing teacher and unique individual with a great personality. She was currently my math professor at QCC and she made our class a safe space and made sure we were alright and understood. She had the best jokes, especially since we had class so late at night. She will be deeply miss by her students. My condolences to her family and friends.

My  sincerest condolences to everyone. I did not know Mrs. Rohan for long but for the time I did she was amazing. I’ve been struggling with this math class for a while now, I’ve had numerous professors as well. But once I had Mrs. Rohan everything came easy. Praying for everyone’s peace and comfort ❤️.

Sue was the big sister I could always rely on for help with homework or any other problem as I was growing up. When I became an adult, she was the person I could confide in with my questions. She did all this while also being a great wife, mother and educator.

It’s hard to imagine not having her around as part of my life. But I’ll always have her inspiration to guide me. I look forward to being reunited with her and mom again in Heaven.

Sue pursued life with passion and compassion. It’s a legacy which will be seen through her impact on family, students, and colleagues. We miss you.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are with my big sister, dancing and singing to the radio while cleaning on Saturday mornings, followed by trips to the library, playground, and ice cream truck. Those simple moments fostered my love for reading, music, and food.

I will miss Sue dearly, but I find comfort knowing she’s now in heaven with our mother. Together, they are watching over us and cheering us on every day.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Mrs. Rohan was my math teacher at FDA circa 2002. At the time, my home life was in tumult and I was a sad young girl. Not much was going right in my life but I will always remember how welcome, respected, seen, and valued I felt in math class. I’ve thought fondly of Mrs. Rohan over the years. I tried to find her on social media once to thank her for treating me with kindness because it mattered. I went from a broken child without much hope to a successful attorney in Pennsylvania… In part because a math teacher decades earlier was kind. So as you remember your wife, mother, sister, friend… I just wanted you to know that THAT was/is her legacy and that legacy will continue impacting others for generations. Praying for your peace and lifting you up in light and love.

I will miss you dearly. After many years later I still remember your class and how thoughtful you were. You will always be the person that helped me build confidence in math. Since then I’ve been stronger than ever in that subject. Thank you for everything.

I deeply apologize for your lost. Mrs. Rohan was my Pre-Calc teacher at Cardozo back in 2019. She would always move my seat around my class because I always kept talking to my friends. I found it funny at the time and I still do, even till this day I find it funny. She was a good teacher, nice and caring. I got to understand more in Pre-Calc due to her teaching. During covid, she would record and upload videos of math equations to help me and her students understand more on the subject. She was the only teacher that did this out of the rest of my other teachers during the pandemic. Thinking about it now, I never realised how much effort and careness she put into it, in order to make sure we understood how to solve the equations until now. I wish I got to see her again. I have been deployed overseas for almost 2.5 years, and till this day I always think about all of the teachers I had at Cardozo. It was a shock to hear about Susan's sudden passing. She was one my closest colleagues at Cardozo. She the assistant principal of math and I of science. we worked close together for over 20 years until my retirement. Susan was always kind and considered. She always had a smile on her face. She talked about Amanda and the activities she and Amanda did together. Amanda, she loved you very much. You are in a better place now Susan looking down on all of us. Hearing about the passing of Mrs. Rohan was very heartbreaking and painful for me. There are not enough words that I can use to describe how incredible Mrs. Rohan was as a human being - she was truly one of a kind. Every time I saw her, she was always so kind, positive, understanding, loving, full of energy, and she would always share her knowledge. I feel so blessed that I was able to have her as a teacher and that I was able to visit her after I graduated from Cardozo too. I will always cherish every encounter that I had with her and I will miss her so much. She taught me so much (about math and life) and I am so grateful for her. She believed in me in moments when I didn't believe in myself and that went a long way for me. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Rohan's friends and family. My deepest deepest condolences to Mrs. Rohan's family and friends!!! I thought about her as I was helping my daughter with her math homework. I was wishing there was a way I could contact her for help.  She taught me 2 math classes at the same time. I believe it was algebra and trig. She was an amazing teacher. So amazing that I scored a 100 and 97 on both math Regents, respectively. She was dedicated and always found ways to teach students with different learning styles. She was a true gem and hearing of her passing really hurt me. Thank you Mrs Rohan!!

I am terribly saddened to have heard the news of Ms. Rohan's passing. I worked with Susan for many years at Cardozo HS. My deepest sympathies go out to her family and may her memory be a blessing.

Ms. Rohan was an angel of a teacher.  She bestowed so much confidence in me when it came to teaching me mathematics. I will miss her truly. Her kindness and love will never go forgotten.
