To Robert's family, although we never met I just wanted to let you know  how sorry I feel for your lost.  I am writing this entry so late because I just recently found out about it. 

It was not unusual for us to lose contact and then call each other out of the blue every so often.  I can not tell you how depressed I am that I will no longer be able to do that.


I first met Robert in the mid 1990's while working on assignment at Metropolitan Hospital.  He introduced himself and the first thing that caught my eye was his amazing smile and his love of laughter.

The other quality that I noticed about him over the years was that he had a deep, sensitive soul.  He once told me that he had teared up at a wedding of one of his friends. 

I will miss him dearly and think of him often and always keep him in my heart.

I thought we would be sitting around at 80 years old, arguing on a park bench, my man.

We played years and years of every sport there is, on half the fields and schoolyards in Queens. You were the first person I knew who ran long distances for fun. Never a quitter, never a cheater, never a whiner, always quick to laugh, too.  Always first to say "Lets play another one" even when it was getting dark out there.

You understood that Elvis was the King.  You kept telling me every year how the Mets could still win the pennant, no matter how far out of it they were.  We argued about ten thousand things, but we always did it with a lot of laughs, and thats what I'll remember about you, sir. I'll remember you coming into the front gate of the park with your gym bag, early in the morning, taking out paddles, paddleballs, batting gloves, two baseball mitts, tennis balls, baseballs, sweatbands, water bottles, hats, t-shirts, cleats, sneakers, baseball cards, CDs, magazines, videogames, and ninety other things, ready to start the day. This life is going by faster and faster as we get older and I'm getting cynical; I don't think there is anything after this, but you deserve to be in heaven, mi hermano dominicano.

Janet sorry for your lost we all know how sad you feel.  I still remember the good time we had at yours Hauser back in the day playing the guitar and piano.

So sorry for your loss.  I know what a terrible shock and sad time this must be for you, just having lost my father.  Regardless if you were close or not, he is still your brother...and it is not easy.  I wish you strength to help your parents as I know that this is a terrible loss for them.
