Richard was born August 20, 1953.
Richard “Richie” Fossett was born and raised in Queens, NY. From a young age Richie was always fascinated with cars. As a teen, Richie started his career in the automotive business working at his father’s auto body shop. Long days of dedication and passion for cars helped set him up for his career change as an auto body repair inspector for the state of NY from where he would later retire. Richie was always “the go to man” for any car advise as well as many other things. He was always willing to help out family and friends. He had an obsession with auto racing, especially for Nascar, but also enjoyed other sports such as ice hockey. Richie was always staying active with his daughters and grandchildren going ice skating, roller blading or riding bikes. Vacations with the family always required an amusement park close by.
While born and raised in Queens, Richie always had a little bit country in his heart. As a child, he enjoyed his visits to family in Iowa and being on the farm. As an adult, he cherished his time going to the family house in the Poconos or being anywhere a little rustic.
Richie is the devoted husband to Gail and beloved father to Jennifer (and the late Robbie) Lynch and Melissa (Jeff) Hamadyk. Richie is the most cherished grandfather “Pa” to Ashley, Lindsey, JJ, Christian and Madison. He kept a life-long friendship with the mother of his children (the late) Barbara Fossett. Devoted brother to Carol (Carmine) Vaccarino, Theresa (Joe) Medea, and the late Gail (Sam) Sampogna. Adored son to the late Richard and Marion Fossett. Richie is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
