He enjoyed his involvement in the Boy Scouts, amateur rocketry, paddling kayaks around the East River, and tango dancing. He was a proud Irish-American and active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians who marched in many St. Patrick’s Day parades.
A devoted son, he cared for his mother, Joan, for years after his father James passed in 1995. He was a large and often jovial man and enjoyed a special relationship with his dear nephew “Little Jimmy.”
