Patricia O'Sullivan

Patricia O’Sullivan of Bayside, NY, passed away on November 5, 2023, at the age of 72. Patty is survived by her sister Maryann (Ralph) and brother Joseph. She was the beloved Aunt to Ralph Weaver (Laura), Nicholas O’Sullivan (Karen) and Karen Magaletta (Frank). She had 4 cherished great nephews who were the light of her world, Ryan, Thomas, Evan and Nicholas. She treated all her nieces and nephews as though they were her children. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Veronica O’Sullivan. Patty was born in Hempstead, NY, lived in East Meadow, NY before moving to Flushing, NY at age 10.

Patty was always very academically inclined and gifted in science, she went to Hunter College where she graduated Cum Laude and become a Pediatric Physical Therapist. She worked at United Cerebral Palsy for many years and helped hundreds of children. She then worked as a Lab Manager for Dr. Lorber and Dr. Tibaldi, where she met many of her cherished and life-long friends. Always being extremely driven, she later went on to receive her Master of Science Degree from Quinnipiac University in Physical Therapy. She then continued her career at St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital doing home care for many years. Her patients became like family to her, she truly loved her job.

She loved being surrounded by family and friends. She was also a huge animal lover, specifically dogs. She was a proud dog mom over the years to Melissa, Annie, Krystal, Zoey, Maggie and her latest rescue, Kobe. She loved a good party and would often be one of the last attendees still sipping a coffee. She had such a sweet and easy-going nature, children were always drawn to her. Some of her best moments were spent with her great nephews. Patty loved to play with them, she was always up for a game of trivia or Uno. Patty’s legacy of resilience, positivity and strength will live on in all the people who had the honor of knowing her. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to all.

A visitation for Patricia will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 10:45 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Mel R.C. Church, 26-15 154th Street, Queens, NY 11354. An interment will occur Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379.
