Mildred K. Flanagan

Mildred (“Millie”) is survived by her loving children, John Flanagan (Gayle) of Tampa, Florida and Dr. Joseph Flanagan of Manlius, New York. She is also survived by her two beloved granddaughters Kristen Flanagan of Copenhagen, Denmark and Kaitlin Flanagan of St. Petersburg, Florida. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Frank Flanagan and her siblings Milton (“Hank”) Riedel, Edward Riedel and Edith Lerstad. Mildred was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on November 29, 1938 to August and Martha Riedel. She moved to New York as a child and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. She married Frank Flanagan to whom she was married to for 64 years until his death. She worked for the Social Security Administration in their New York Office for over 20 years. Mildred was an avid reader especially enjoying biographies and autobiographies and was a supporter of PBS. She enjoyed seeing her granddaughters’ accomplishments and was a proud mother and grandmother. She was loved by all that knew her and she will be deeply missed by her family as well as her nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday November 3rd from 2:00 to 6:00 at Fredericks Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Blvd, Flushing, New York 11358. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 4th at 9:45 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 34-24 203rd Street, Auburndale, New York 11361. Following the mass, an intimate service will be held at the Chapel of Mount St. Mary Cemetery 172-00 Booth Memorial Avenue, Flushing, New York 11365.
