Josephus' story begins in Cebu, Philippines. He was born to Leoncio Cabaluna and Dominga Solaybar on November 8, 1943.
Josephus graduated from Cebu Institute of Technology and went on to become a teacher and eventually a college professor.
This profession would lead Josephus to meet his colleague and future wife, Priscilla in 1971. They married in December 21, 1973 and went on to have three children, Beverly, Valerie and JoAnne.
In 1986 Josephus and his family of 5 immigrated to the United States and settled in New York. After relocating, he switched careers and worked in the hotel and retail management industry.
He was a kind and loving partner to his wife Priscilla, an amazing father to their daughters and son in laws, Allan and Brian and a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren, Ashley, Aldrie, Jenna, Matthew & James and his great grandson, Kaden. Josephus' motto was 'be kind' and this is exactly how he chose to live his life.
Josephus enjoyed life, family and many friends. He reveled in traveling with his family by his side. He was always there to help others in need and brighten the life of others.
Most of all, Josephus loved his family and always put them above himself. He treasured his children and grandchildren as they were his pride and joy. He was affectionately known as "Grandpa Papa" by his grandkids. He will be dearly missed, affectionately remembered and forever in our hearts.
