I first met Joan about five years ago when my cat disappeared. I blanketed the area with flyers and had posted one right outside of St. Kevin's Church. He had been missing a few months at that point and I got many helpful tips, but none of them panned out -- until Joan called me. She was certain it was my cat she saw in her neighbor's yard and even though I thought it could be another sweet person with a false lead, she was very certain and I had nothing to lose by heading over there. Turns out, Joan was right! It took me a week of trying to trap him, and both Joan and her neighbor were so kind to let me use their properties to do so. She invited me in and we had a nice chat and I was so glad to meet her and know such a kind woman was living so close to me. She told me about her husband, and about how they enjoyed a nightly cocktail and that she still did. We talked about having one together, but sadly that never came about. I'm sorry I didn't get to know her better, but I will always thankful to her for helping get my little man back. I'm writing this today because I passed by her house and saw a For Sale sign and my heart sunk a bit. My condolences to her family and friends. May she RIP.  xo

A constant smile beamed from Joan's face every time my mother, Kay, and I (Carol) saw her at family gatherings. At the glimpse of seeing her grandchildren, she would always shine with delight and you could tell she was proud of their accomplishments. I will always remember seeing her this way and her memory will make me smile. Be at peace now Joan. You are truly an angel above. Although family members and friends will be saddened of your loss here on earth they will be comforted by knowing you are looking after them from heaven above.

I will miss Joan so much.  She was such a joy at Seniors and, especially, at our Thursday knitting circle at St. Kevin’s.  She was so kind to everyone and had the most beautiful smile.  I will remember her always and know that she is now resting peacefully in Heaven.
