While her 78 years may seem short in today’s times, she had a full and joyous life. As anyone who has ever visited her Facebook page knows, she cherished her Sunday dinners with her “NYC family” and spending time with the love of her life, her granddaughter. When she was not doing that, she could be found spending afternoons “sitting by the bay,” meeting her friends for marathon 5 hour dinner dates at the diner or games of scrabble. She loved attending Broadway shows, dining out, taking tropical vacations with “her girls,” listening to oldies and was always on a never ending quest for “bargains.” She and the employees at TJ Maxx were on a first name basis. You could never tell her that you needed something, lest she show up days later with her bargain find.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Theresa Hasher. She is survived by her children, Wendy (Christopher Di Giulio) and Jill, her greatest joy and only grandchild, Victoria Marie Di Giulio, her sister, Dianne Incantalupo, several cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as cherished friends, too many to mention, dating back to her elementary and high school days, her time serving on the PTA of PS 130 and her many years working for Weight Watchers and her beloved Academy of American Studies.
