It is with great sadness that heard of Elisa’s death.  I have such fond memories of working with her and also visiting her and her family at home.  My condolences to her family including her son and ex husband.     Laurie Friedman

“Miss Elisa” was a part of our extended family. Our son went to LF for 3 years and our daughter will start there this summer. We were so excited for her to meet Elisa and experience the warmth and glow that always exuded from her. So patient, helpful, and welcoming…and somehow kept on top of everything at LF with I’m sure lots of reheard and details to manage daily. We knew we were lucky to have her. 

There is now an Elisa shaped hole in our community and hearts. It is unbelievable this happened and we are feeling so much for Sam, her family, and the whole LF family (it is big, because of her!). We will do our best to help carry on her spirit in the school and community, and beyond. Sending lots of love and strength to all. We will miss her.

I was so sorry to hear of Elisa's passing.  We worked together on projects, and shared many happy dinners  together.  She was always so vivacious and spirited, intelligent and hard-working and I enjoyed being with her.   Your mother was so proud of you, Sam, and spoke of you often.  She was so excited to see you take flying lessons and lift off to the sky.  I think her spirit will be with you next time you take off into the clouds.  She left us much too soon, but we will remember happier times and the laughter we shared.   Please accept my sincere condolences.

My deepest condolences to the family and all who loved her.  My good fortune was to know her through the Broadway-Flushing Homeowners Association.  She was so sweet, with the most shining smile.   Such a loss.  Let us find comfort in so many lovely memories.

You have been in my life for a very long time. You have been a mentor, a friend, a listener the best boss ever!! Someone I could come to with any problem I ever had and you’d give a solution. You taught me so much of what I know today and you have shaped the the kind of teacher and educator that I am today   I’ll miss our lunch time talks and I’ll miss your sarcasm and your advice about life. I’ll miss you coming to sit in my classroom and sit with our kids because they all loved you so much. Little friends will never be the same without you, but we will try our best. We love you 💔

Ms. Elisa, you were an incredible lady. Our family is so grateful  to have had the pleasure to get to meet you.  You were  the reason we decided to enroll Ethan into little friends. The day we came for the tour you made it a point to show Ethan around and make him comfortable. Since that day you and Little Friends became part of our family. Every summer Ethan returns you always made time to make him feel welcomed and even throughout the year you always check up on him and us. I will forever grateful. Miss the random convos and laughs about “Man Children”. You have had as much an impact on me growing up as the man i am as anyone else in the world! Ive known you to be so many titles and roles to me in my life. From the first day i met you as a 5 year old to about 13 yrs old and you were my principal. To being my boss for about 2 seconds when you hired me. 24 years knowing you, and seeing you help me and my family to no end! It didn’t take long for me to realize how special you were and how lucky i was to have you lead me and show me the ropes. Everything i am today in child care, is because of you. When people see me with kids and praise me for my work, its ALL YOU! You are Little Friends, you ARE Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Woodside, Bayside, Etc.  With the generations and millions of lives you have touched over 25+ years, there is no doubt in my mind that you are an angel watching over the community! We love and miss you and we will keep your passion booming! Rest Easy Boss Lady!

Saying goodbye to you, my best friend, feels impossible.  We had plans to grow old together and share countless memories.  Your presence was a constant source of comfort and support through life's highs and lows. I will miss our morning calls to our dinners at Bar Fritz---martinis and pizza while exchanging stories and laughter.

Your absence leave a void in my heart.  I hope you found your happiness and peace. And I hope you are always by my side.

Ms Elisa has raised generations of children in this neighborhood. I wish we could distill the love that she poured into the very walls of Little Friends Daycare and spread it across the world. The entire culture of the school was shaped by her calm, warmth, kindness, generosity and sense of humor. Everyday, she took gentle care of the most precious things in our lives and we breathed easy because she was such a precious thing in ours. Her legacy lives on through all the friends, both little and large, who were lucky enough to have been touched by her magic and grace. We know her work will live on with the skilled and dedicated teachers you hired, inspired and made into a family. But we’ll be missing her always. Such a profound loss! A light gone way too soon! So many amazing memories growing up! I will never forget her radiant smile and personality!

We are saddened and shocked by the premature loss of Miss Elisa. Our daughter Aline attends Little Friends, which Miss Elisa made a warm, nurturing place. She was such a kind, graceful person who left this world too soon.  May she rest in peace.

She was an advanced runner and should have been with her group in the front, but always chose to start the race in the back with me.  She was a great runner - I couldn't pass her if I tried, and she would always be at the end waiting for me with the goody bags.
