Ann Vitale

Ann Butke Vitale, age 77, died at home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, following another courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She was born on March 21, 1934, in Osnabruck, Germany, to the late Adolf and Agnes Butke. In 1960, she was united in marriage to the late Raymond Vitale in St. Mary's Nativity Church in Flushing, New York.

Ann is survived by her son, Jeffrey, her son and his wife, Paul and Maria, four granddaughters, Ashley, Michelle, Isabella and Gabriella, and her older sister, Riales. Ann is further survived by her niece, Gina Vitale, who cared for her and stayed by her side until the end. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her three younger brothers, Winfred, Karl Heinz, and Werner Butke.

Funeral services for Ann Vitale will be held at 9:30 am, Monday, February 27, at St. Mary's Nativity Church, 46-02 Parsons Blvd. in Flushing. Relatives and friends are welcome at Quinn-Fogarty Funeral Home in Flushing, 162-14 Sanford Avenue on Saturday, February 25, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Sunday, February 26, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
