She is survived by her mother, Fedora Lukin; her sisters, Suzana Karaman and Lora Lukin; her Brothers-in-law, Tonko Karaman and Alek Lukin; her niece, Dora; and nephews, Luka, Marko, Daniel, Mateo, and Nikola.
Born in Astoria, Queens, Angela, the second daughter of Krunoslav and Fedora Lukin, immediately captured the hearts of all who met her. Even as a child she had an infectious smile, smart wit, and was on a mission to bring home every animal in the entire neighborhood. She attended Immaculate Conception and St. Johns High School.
Always drawn to learning, Angela pursued and received her education degree from St. John’s University. After several years of teaching in the NYC public school system, she and several colleagues opened their own computer school, Kidbits. Catching the business bug, she went on to gain experience in sales and marketing at the Crown Plaza Hotel and began to pursue her Masters in marketing.
It wasn't until she entered the healthcare space that she found her true passion. The ability to change people’s lives and help ease their personal health journey. For over three decades she devoted her time to bringing the world breakthrough after breakthrough.
Throughout her career she led by example. Always with empathy and compassion. She inspired and cultivated a new generation of marketers across the globe and ensured that every door she opened, she also held open for the next person.
She traveled the world, lived abroad, and was so grateful to experience new cultures firsthand, but there was no place she was happier than on the island of IŽ. It was the one place she truly called home.
She held the title of Coolest Aunt in the world and made sure every niece and nephew knew just how much she loved them. She enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything. To Suzana and Lora, she was more than just a sister. She was their best friend and no matter where they were across the globe, they were always together in their hearts.
A wake will be held on Saturday, July 15, at Fredrick Funeral Home from 1-5pm.
She will be laid to rest in eternal peace on Mali IŽ.
