KAHL, Robert L. – Age 88, of Flushing, died Friday, April 13, 2012. Mr. Kahl was born September 15, 1923 in St. Mary of the Woods, Indiana the son of John and Nora (Kincade) Kahl. He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church. Mr. Kahl served his country with the U.S. Army during W.W.II with the 88th Tank Destroyer Battalion. Robert retired from General Motors, Ternstedt, where he was a Mechanical Engineer. He enjoyed golf, bowling, euchre, his Detroit Tigers and Lions, and gardening, especially roses. On September 2, 1950 Robert married Avonne Krusell and she survives him. Also surviving are children, Linda Kahl, Will (Melanie) Kahl, Tom (Cindy) Kahl, Mary (Mike) Danford; grandchildren, Melia, Samantha, Devin, Josh, Mitch, Shannon, Micheal, Cody, Adam and Nathan; great grandchild, Aidan; sister, Loretta Harden; brother, Frank Kahl. Mr. Kahl was preceded in death by his son Matt and eight brothers and sisters. Friends may visit the family from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Reigle Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing, MI. Father Louis Ekka will officiate. Entombment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
