Henry Louis Piche of Flushing, formerly of Lake Linden, MI passed away September 19, 2022. He was born May 19, 1940 in Lake Linden to the late Henry and Rose (Baril) Piche. Henry was a quiet, kind, and generous man who loved spending time on his computer, watching CNN and holding his pets, as he was an avid animal lover. When he was 17 years old, Henry entered the Navy and served for 4 years with an honorable discharge. Afterward, he attended Northern Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and decided to become an educator. Teaching was his passion and he taught at Beecher Community Schools for over 30 years. During that time, he also earned his Master of Arts and a Specialist in Arts degree from Eastern Michigan University. On July 8, 2000, Henry married the love his life, Joyce (Evans Auclair) Piche, and together they traveled the world while enjoying retirement together. One of their favorite places was Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where they lived during the winter months. Henry was loved by everyone that he met and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his sister Carol Adams, stepdaughter Michelle (Frank) Fortelka, grandchildren Michael (Cassandra) Fortelka, Sean (Alyssa) Fortelka, Merissa Evans and Paige (Justin) Wilson, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce Piche, parents Henry and Rose Piche, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Tom Tippett, and stepson Jeffrey Evans. Internment and service will be September 29, 2022 at 12:30pm at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
