BAMMERT, Carmen May - Age 83, of Flushing, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, June 4, 2017. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday, June 12, 2017 with one hour of visitation prior to mass, at St. Robert Catholic Church - 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing, Michigan with Fr. Anthony Brooks celebrating. Visitation will be held from 4pm – 8pm on Sunday, June 11, 2017 with Rosary Prayer Service at 7pm at Reigle Funeral Home – 5501 W. Pierson Road, Flushing, Michigan. Carmen was born on May 15, 1934 in Calumet, Michigan to the late Mr. Edward and Marie (Posey) Newman. Carmen was a woman of many talents. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, receiving her RN degree. Carmen was musical, playing the piano and organ. She was also a well-known local artist and a past president and member of the Left Bank Gallery. Carmen would often travel to local and international art shows, displaying her beautiful artwork. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Carmen is survived by her children: Robert M. Bammert, James L. Bammert, Thomas E. (Susan) Bammert, David A. (Lynnette) Bammert, Mary M. (Ronald) Lints, Judith B. (Craig) Adams, Gary F. (Traci) Bammert; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother, Edward (Anne) Newman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Bammert; brother, William Newman; and sister, Alice Ouellette. The family would like to thank Munson Hospice and Country Pleasures Assisted Living in Traverse City for their mother’s care during the last year.
