Thomas was born on August 6, 1946, in Danville, IL, to Frank and Eileen. One of five children, he grew up in rural Indiana. He graduated from Newport High School in 1964, soon after choosing to serve his country. He joined the United States Air Force for almost 25 years, touring the world while standing strong for his beloved country. He was boots-on-the-ground during the Vietnam War and later met his future wife while stationed in Germany.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ingrid Barclay, and his children Eric and Melanie Barclay; his granddaughter Hailey Barclay-King. Son-in-law Russell W. King, Jr, step-grandchildren Sara, Savannah and Chance King and siblings Jerry Barclay, Rhonda Barclay & Rita Self.
Thomas was preceded by his mother, Eileen Newell; his father, Frank Barclay; his brother, Richard Barclay and his son, Christopher Barclay.
Thomas will be lovingly remembered as a leader, mentor, father, husband and friend. His unwavering support for the Red, White & Blue shall be missed.
