Siegfried "Siggy" Straub fought, but lost, a long battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at his home. Siggy was preceded in death by his father, Josef, his mother, Maria and his sisters Elfriede and Ruth. Survived by his children Iris Straub Rowand, Isabel Straub, Ilona Pomeroy (Charles), Patrick Straub and one granddaughter, Gabrielle. He was born in Friedrichshafen, Germany. He emigrated from Germany in the early 1960s to the USA. He lived in NYC, Valley Stream, NY, Bedford Hills, NY, Brewster, NY, and Palm Coast, FL. He was a talented Tool and Die Maker and worked as a skilled tradesman his entire life until he retired fully in 2011. He enjoyed his retirement years in Palm Coast, FL. He kayaked, rode his bike, swam in the ocean at Hammock Beach and spent more time in the hot tub than anyone else we knew. Services will be private. If desired, donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
