Shannon was born on December 14, 1976 to the late Kenneth and Jacqueline Lacore (Johnson) in Luverne Minnesota. Shannon spent most of her years raising and tending to her children and caring for her mother in her later years. Throughout her life Shannon surrounded herself with things that she loves most, her family and being outdoors - whether that was spending hours at the beach or floating in the waters of a Florida Spring. She was a die hard Vikings fan, and loved a good Packers vs. Vikings rivalry. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, a good cup of coffee or tea in one of her favorite mugs, and snuggling up on the couch with the kids and a good TV show. You could find her most weekends supporting her kids in their local basketball program, where she made many friends courtside. Shannon loved to laugh and make others laugh with her sense of humor, and her laugh and smile would light up a room. She was caring and kind, and had a way of connecting with people that instantly made them family.
Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Beverly Cookson. She is survived by her loving husband, Nicholas Porter and their children who were the pride of her life, Rebecca (Joshua) Walker, Jackson Pollock, Meghan Pollock, and Ryan Porter and Emelia Porter. Her 2 granddaughters, “Mimi’s girls” who filled her heart with joy Charlotte and Adeline Walker. She is also survived by nieces and nephews who meant the world to her, Emma Davis, Shawn Rawls, Jennifer (Carlos) Caceres and Nicholas Cookson as well as many family and friends who loved Shannon dearly.
Although she will forever live on in our hearts, she will be missed beyond measure.
