Robert L. Upton

Mr. Upton was born May 9, 1934 in Lowell, MA, a son of Ozias & Mary Lyons Upton. Bob grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps and in the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as an engineer in the technology field in Shelton, CT where he met his soon-to-be wife Ruth Caron. Bob and Ruth were married July 27, 1957 and lived in Shelton until the early 1980s, where he retired as superintendent of a steel mill.

Bob and Ruth then moved to Palm Coast, FL and became members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Bob was also a member the Marine Corps League, the Palm Coast Elks Lodge, and the Knights of Columbus third and fourth degree. Bob was an avid tennis player and loved bowling, sports, dancing and people.

He is survived by his wife Ruth of 60 years.

Bob had three brothers, Andrew, Vinny and Joe Upton, and one sister, Mary Hodkowski. Bob and Ruth also have several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast, where a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.
