Robert Thomas Ruark

Robert dedicated many years of his career to HEX Department Store in Arlington, VA. Following his early retirement in 1989, he moved his family to Palm Coast, Florida, where he embraced his new community with enthusiasm and commitment.

He was a devoted member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church and actively participated in the Kiwanis Club of Flagler/Palm Coast, serving as both past president and treasurer. Additionally, Robert was a two-time past president of the Palm Coast Hispanic American Club, demonstrating his dedication to fostering community spirit and cultural understanding.

Robert had a passion for computers, carpentry, and traveling the world, often enjoying cruises to various destinations. His love for adventure and learning was evident to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Maria Ruark, in 2011. He is survived by his loving daughter, Ann Marie Patterson, her husband, Scott, and their three children, Haden, Reina, and Cyenna.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to The American Cancer Society. Robert's legacy of love, dedication, and service to his community will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation for Robert will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N Central Ave, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136.
