Richard John Barringer 89 of Palm Coast passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2022. Mr. Barringer was a former resident of Fruitland Park FL. He was born on June 5, 1932 in Conneaut OH a son of the late Fred John Barringer and Olive Wengstrom Barringer. Mr. Barringer retired from the transportation department of the Orlando Sentinel after many years of service. After his retirement, he and his wife spent half the year in Fruitland Park, FL., and the other half in Franklin, NC. In Franklin, he enjoyed gardening, canning and going to Flea Markets. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Fruitland Park and enjoyed working, building and flying model airplanes. He was a wonderful person to be around, and loved to tell jokes. Surviving are his dear wife of 42 years, Charlotte (Bedgood) Barringer, three sons, Richard Barringer Jr. of Summerfield FL, Douglas Barringer and Dennis Barringer, both of Lady Lake FL, one daughter, Debbie Greenspan of Lafayette NY, a step-son Raymond Baker of Cleveland GA, and a step-daughter Marian Comer and her husband Tom of Palm Coast FL, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one sister, Karen Small of Deltona FL. A celebration of Mr. Barringer’s life will be on Saturday, May 21st at 11:00 AM in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 2201 Spring Lake Road, Fruitland Park FL with interment to follow in the memorial gardens of the church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
